Tides To Resin
Having been creative all of my life and my absolute love for sketching at a very early age, I would literally just sit and draw at any given opportunity. I loved painting in watercolours, acrylics and oil paints. Salvidor Dali was my all time inspiration, where I’d sit and study his work in great depth.
.
My college days arrived where I could finally study my passion for art & design. I started to work my way up towards achieving my goals, to draw, create and grow more in confidence of being an artist. I then developed a love for textile design and exploring the world of patterns, textures and mixed media. I gained my Higher National Diploma and after 5 years in college I decided to go to work and I became the artist of a silk screen printing company. This wasn’t for me so I worked in various jobs which none had anything to do with art. I totally lost all of my inspiration I no longer did a single thing that was art based.
.
I got married had my 2 beautiful girls, Ava & Esmée and my inspiration started to make it’s way back to me. I became a florist and after gaining my qualifications at Northop College in Wales, I was luckily enough to work in some high end florists. In my spare time, I learnt how to metal stamp, I’d create bookmarks to keyrings to stocking a couple of local shops and a tearoom along New Brighton front, where I grew up with my brother spending lots of time with our Polish nan and grandad.
.
I was then fascinated in the world of resin and wanting to incorporate this different form of medium into my metal work. I built up my stock and started artisan markets, which I still take part in now and love. The resin then became to slowly evolve and before I knew it I found my own niche of where I truly felt settled and where I wanted to be. And that was turning my love of our beautiful Wirral Peninsula coastline, where I live with my family, into my inspiration for resin coastal art. This is where I am today, working from home in my craft room, creating unique pieces of the coast and bringing the coast to you!
